At the celebration of the World Migration Sunday last September 27, 2015 at St. Mary`s Cathedral several events were prepared by the Catholic Tokyo International Center, the organizer of this annual event. These events were also announced by Bp. James Koda, the director of CTIC, just before the final blessing was given during the Mass. He invited everyone to participate especially the children as CTIC had organized a Bible Quiz Bee, besides the cultural program and food stalls. The Bible Quiz was held at the ground floor of the meeting room of the Sekiguchi Kaikan and was personally supervised by CTIC staffs, Mr. Kiyoshi Nakamura and Ms. Erlyn Regondon.
According to Erlyn, the Bible Quiz Bee was participated by children of different age brackets coming from different parish communities. Among them were seven children from the French community, six from the Filipino community of Mobara Parish, one Filipino child from Narita community and over ten children from the Korean community. Ms. Moeri Kitani of Kitamachi parish church and Mr. Satoshi Nambu of Sekiguchi parish church were requested to animate the games and both did an excellent job. The activity was found to be full of fun and really overwhelming based on the kids` various reactions in answering the quiz. They were all very enthusiastic. The fun-filled activity had given the children an opportunity to meet new friends from other churches and communities. This was the first time that an activity for children was prepared at the Migrants` Sunday celebration.
